We come from Baton Rouge and Publix is our first stop to buy Butterkäse, the best cheese ever!!! And key lime pie of course❤
I ordered my wedding cake online. The staff at this store made the process simple for me. I ordered a 2 tier cake with 30 cupcakes. It looked expensive but it was a great price and tasted fresh. Above all it looked PERFECT! No one believes it was from Publix.
Speaking of the deli, Boars Head ROCKS, you can get samples, and recommendations, and something yummy is always on sale. The sandwiches are pretty good, and the roasted and fried chicken is great.
The only negative issue: On three different occasions the young men I've dealt with (&/or observed) in the CS dept. seemed more interest is chatting with each other than assisting customers.
Aside from that, this is one of the best Publix stores I've been in during my travels.
Best customer service in the area. Low enough turnover that I recognize many of the employees - and they recognize me as well. I especially enjoy chatting with the cashiers and the folks in the deli.
I ordered two 8" round cakes from the bakery over the weekend. We were out of town and my hometown Publix is always amazing. I was so disappointed with my experience at Sea Shell Collections. The icing on the cakes did not cover the cakes! It was not iced well at all. I had guests make comments about it, which was incredibly embarrassing. The cake was also pretty crooked on the cardboard. I assumed you could count on all Publix bakeries.
It's a tourist area so they carry more than a typical Publix. I'm impressed by the all of the cashier's (men & women alike) that I've dealt with as well as the women in their customer service dept.
This is the only grocery store to go to if you are picky about produce. I am. The meat is the best, and the guys "behind the glass" will butcher to order. If you don't see something, ask them - they might not have it out yet. I can't wait for the Publix brand smoked turkey, and I'm getting an extra or two this year, since it's not available year round. The Wine aisle is unbelievable for a grocery store. Great selection of beer as well.
My only advice to employee's is to work as if someone from corporate is in your store. Because you never know when corporate is observing.
More expensive? Maybe, if you don't shop based on the sales and the store brand stuff. We actually prefer some of the Publix branded stuff. And the sales are great. Love the BOGOs.
